Hi, I’m Lexie, and welcome to my blog. This is the bit where you find out what makes me tick, so let’s go…
I’m a 70’s child, so I grew up in flares and toweling playsuits. I spent a lot of time in the holidays with my grandparents who were both involved in theater and film, and I fell in love with everything retro and old Hollywood. In the late 80’s I was a goth and used to collect BDSM paraphernalia and write poetry in a fancy font with a purple fountain pen. I loved the drama, the darkness and the romance of goth life. I played bass guitar in several goth and punk bands, which was quite an accomplishment as I am tone deaf. Despite that, I do love to sing (when I’m alone!) and I like music with raw emotion, longing and passion, although I also love anything that makes me want to dance. These days I love the femme fatale vibe, mixed with a New Orleans kind of undertone. I like to change my hair colour often and my heroine is Jessica Rabbit. I love going to the movies, often by myself, to immerse myself fully in the characters on the screen and live vicariously through them.
I’ve been writing professionally on and off since 2010. I was wondering what to do with my life and I remembered that my mum had once told me, “there’s always money in porn”. I loved sneaking through her copy of Anais Nin’s “Delta of Venus” when I was younger and later on I devoured Nancy Friday’s “My Secret Garden” and “Men in Love” along with a bucketful of Mills & Boon, as well as cultivating an unhealthy obsession with the Marquis De Sade, so I thought what the hell and put pen to paper. My first ever attempt at erotica was published in an anthology and I was hooked.
At this point I had to get right outside my comfort zone and meet people and talk about sex in person. I am extraordinarily shy until I get to know you and don’t do that well in crowds, so this was a big step. The most nerve-wracking thing was reading that first story at an event at Sh! in Hoxton. I knew no-one, hated reading aloud and wasn’t sure how I was going to get through it. It turned out to be a massive rush and I did it again on several occasions. It helped that the gorgeous ladies at Sh! were (and still are) so welcoming and fabulous.
It was through Sh! that I met the women who would go on to become the best writing buddies ever and after a few drinks at one of the many erotic events we frequented we decided to form the Brit Babes. Writing with the Babes was probably the most fun time of my life; I learned so much from these incredible writers and still do and I’m really excited to be back in contact with some of the gang today.
I never thought that erotica would be something that would be such a big part of my life. I’ve had a complicated relationship with sex in the past; as an SA survivor I have had issues with being touched and crippling anxiety which made me want to peel off my skin and scrub my insides, but I strongly believe that sex is a totally natural and essential part of being human and I won’t let that be taken away. My stories help me to reclaim my sexuality, to take back control and explore my fantasies, as well as heal. I like to use my imagination to create sexy scenarios, but of course some of my stories are firmly based in reality… which ones? I’ll leave it for you to guess!
I am finally writing full time and I am so excited to explore all the ideas that have been floating around in my head for years and get them onto paper. You’ll find short stories on here, along with my thoughts on all sorts of sexy topics as well as things that happen in society for women today and in the past. I’m excited to get back into this industry and hope to feature lots of other fabulous people on my blog too.
Finally, I hope to branch out into reading my stories on Only Fans and dabble in some ASMR so watch this space.
So, here we go, leave your worries and your inhibitions at the door and indulge your fantasies with me.
Kisses
Lexie xx
